Hendersonville, North Carolina
Hendersonville is located about 25 miles from downtown Asheville and is the county seat for Henderson County. Henderson County which includes the towns of Hendersonville, Flat Rock, Laurel Park, Mills River, Fletcher (which is in both Henderson & Buncombe County), Etowah, Horse Shoe, Tuxedo, Zirconia, Bat Cave, Gerton, Edneyville and Naples. Each of these towns offers a different perspective on the area, as well as different real estate opportunities.
With a much larger level valley area than Asheville, the opportunity to find single-level living properties is much greater here, but that doesn’t mean that it’s all flat; far from it. Henderson County is located on an intermountain plateau and is almost circled by mountains with elevations ranging from 1400 feet near Bat Cave at the foot of the Blue Ridge, to 5,000 feet on Little Pisgah.
Its first source of revenue was agriculture and that is still a viable source of revenue today, with produce such as peppers, tomatoes & corn and much as it was for the early settlers, apples and other fruits. Much of the local produce is available at local produce stands and the year round regional Farmers Market located just outside Asheville.
Because of its accessibility to the low country of the Carolinas & Georgia, Historic Flat Rock was once referred to as The Little Charleston of the Mountains, and many of the original summer estates are still in existence. 
Like most of the surrounding counties, Henderson County offers more to do than one might expect: critically acclaimed live theatre, a year round selection of festivals and events and of course, outstanding independent restaurants. Gated and golf communities, downtown condos, mountaintop estates and original arts and crafts bungalows are just blocks from “Walkers Paradise” downtown - it’s all here in Hendersonville.
