WNC Golf Communities

There are well over 25 public and private golf courses in the mountains in and around Asheville, Hendersonville & Haywood, many of which have won awards. The mountains have long created challenges for golf course designers and players, alike.
The seasons are temperate in Western North Carolina, and there is less high heat and lower humidity during the summer than in most of the southern states. Autumn’s spectacular foliage can be enjoyed from just about every hole on any course in the area, as can springtime’s dazzling array of color. Even winters are playable much of the time, as snowfalls don’t typically last more than a few days and daytime temperatures, on a clear day, can reach the 40’s or 50’s.

If you would prefer to travel via golf cart rather than car to your next round of golf, consider one of the area's numerous residential golf communities. All have different amenities and membership options and one is sure to fulfill all of your golfing needs. And of course, you don’t have to live to play golf to live in a golf community. Many choose to live there because of the well maintained courses that add value to their residences and help maintain property values.
