Diversity and community- two words that have long been synonymous with Asheville. While many equate Asheville with the Biltmore estate, there is much more to Asheville than the largest private home in America. After the Great Depression, many cities defaulted on their massive debts- Asheville city fathers honored those debts. While most cities across the country were tearing down historically significant buildings, Asheville couldn’t afford to.
Hendersonville, North Carolina

Hendersonville is located about 25 miles from downtown Asheville and is the county seat for Henderson County. Henderson County which includes the towns of Hendersonville, Flat Rock, Laurel Park, Mills River, Fletcher (which is in both Henderson & Buncombe County), Etowah, Horse Shoe, Tuxedo, Zirconia, Bat Cave, Gerton, Edneyville and Naples. Each of these towns offers a different perspective on the area, as well as different real estate opportunities.

Slow down and savor the present. You’ll find this attitude prevalent all along the streets of downtown Waynesville, the county seat of Haywood County and largest town in WNC west of Asheville, with just about 10,000 residents. It’s a lively and friendly small town nestled in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, complete with a “Very Walkable” downtown Main Street that is chock full of independent shops, galleries, restaurants and historic buildings and lined with tree’s, brick sidewalks and relaxing benches.
